MoneyDo you ever wonder what makes the wealthiest people in the world, so wealthy? I find the topic of “success” an interesting one as success leaves clues. (Success is in quotes as of course we all have different definitions of success – but here, I’m referring to wealth.) I don’t believe that the wealthiest people in the world have the biggest brains in the world. How To Retrain Your Brain To Overcome “Microwave Mentality”

Results from longer term thinkingNowadays, we tend to live in an instant gratification culture. When we try something new, we want results and we want them fast – hence the microwave metaphor. We want results now. I read recently that successful people tend to be longterm thinkers and I’m starting to understand why. I tend to always underestimate how long things take which means I set myself up for disappointment. Then I remind myself of something my father used to say to me: “Anything that’s worth achieving isn’t going to be easy” – or something along those lines. It might have sounded slightly cooler than that! [Read more…]

Live Your Dream

Could these be the best motivational videos? Some of you may think they’re cheesy, others will listen and be uplifted. I for one, thought they were brilliant. I featured this first motivational video on the facebook page a few weeks ago which is definitely worth a watch if you haven’t done so already.

I for one, can vouch for this which is why I started this blog in the first place and on the realisation that I was far from alone with this struggle.  In today’s world of ‘hyper distraction’ with endless opportunities it’s becoming more and more challenging to focus and be productive – which is why it is so important to develop your ability to focus – and this is very possible. The Power Of Goal Setting

Goal SettingDo you ever get to the end of a week, a month, or year (or heaven forbid, longer than a year) and wonder what on earth you’ve achieved or worse still, what you’re doing with your life? This is what happens to our lives when we don’t set goals and have something to aim for. What tends to happen is that we unknowingly put ourselves into a reactive state, rather than a proactive state. The power of goal setting  (and hitting them), enables us to take control of our lives so we end up doing what fulfills us most, so we live the life that we want to lead, rather than one as a passenger (so to speak).
