10 Habits Of The Wealthiest People In The World

MoneyDo you ever wonder what makes the wealthiest people in the world, so wealthy? I find the topic of “success” an interesting one as success leaves clues. (Success is in quotes as of course we all have different definitions of success – but here, I’m referring to wealth.) I don’t believe that the wealthiest people in the world have the biggest brains in the world. It’s their mindset, their psychology and their application to their livelihood. As Einstein once said: “It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s that I stay with problems for longer.” [Read more…]

Rules Of Success – Steve Jobs

Rules Of SuccessIf you ever wonder what makes “successful” people, successful (in the eyes of society), here’s a great place to start. In this short video, Steve Jobs explains a few simple rules of success. He mentions how passion is imperative to succeed as without it, people give up. The rational person will give up if they don’t love something as it’s a lot of hard work. You’ve got to love what you’re doing, or you’ll fail. He also talks about how important it is to have a team of great people. Check it out, it’s only 1.5 mins long and very cool!    [Read more…]

Is Perfectionism Linked With Procrastination?

Perfectionism? This article grabbed my attention in a BIG way! I strongly believe procrastination is what stands between most people and true success. Every single one of us has ideas, it’s just that most people procrastinate about them whereas “successful” people take action. I put successful in quotes as success has a different meaning for different people. Fear of failure is the common force which stops most people from taking action or limiting beliefs – which is essentially the same thing. [Read more…]

7 Reasons To Quit Your Job And Follow Your Dream

Quit your JobEvery now and again I stumble across an article which I just love and know others will too. Here are 7 reasons to quit your job and follow your dream which I suspect you’ll struggle to argue with. I recently read about a poll that was done in the US and it revealed that two thirds of the US were dissatisfied at work. Given that we typically work 5 days a week for 48 weeks a year (more in the US) that’s one huge chunk out of your life being dissatisfied isn’t it? As creativity expert Sir Ken Robinson points out, we’re all born creative, it’s just the most of us have been educated out of our creativity. [Read more…]

How To Motivate Yourself and Stop Procrastinating

Motivation and ProductivityNow this is a very cool article from Dumb little Man. If you’d like to learn how to motivate yourself and stop procrastinating in the next 3-5 minutes then stay right here! I particularly appreciated this citation from Les Brown; “Wanting something is not enough. You must have hunger for it. Your motivation must be absolutely compelling in order to overcome the obstacles that will invariably come your way”. How cool? [Read more…]

5 Reasons Why Optimists Are More Successful

Optimistic People Are Successful PeopleWe’ve all come across people who are naturally more positive and optimistic, and we’ve all come across people who seem to have a very negative outlook on life. Often, entrepreneurs are optimistic people – they need to be to get through the challenges and obstacles that face them. Optimism can be contagious. Unfortunately, negativity can be more contagious and harmful to one’s outlook on life. Optimistic people have a zest for life, they’re generally healthier, happier and more successful than negative people. It’s often the case that they prioritise exercise into their daily routines as exercise releases all the right chemicals in the brain. Here are 5 reasons why optimists are more successful from Lifehack. Top Ten Tips For Effective Time Management For Entrepreneurs

Top Ten Tips For Effective Time Management

Source: http://timemanagementstinger.com/

Leading on from last week’s post on how to improve your productivity instantly, these top ten tips for effective time management develop a few of the concepts and present some other ideas that you probably won’t have heard of. Importantly, we human beings are all different and work differently. It’s really about finding out what works for you. I’ve listed my personal top ten which I think you will find very useful.

1)      Forget time management – it’s a misdemeanour! Controversial I hear you say? If you think about it, time is the one thing in life that we can’t manage. We’re only dealt with a finite amount of it. I came across this concept from 7 Habits of Highly Successful People by Steven Covey.  The trick is to manage your focus, rather than time. [Read more…]

How To Increase Productivity Instantly

Boost ProductivityIn today’s era of ‘hyper distraction’ productivity has taken a slump on a global scale. Most people are living in reactive mode as opposed to proactive mode. If you would like to learn how to increase productivity instantly, then look no further! I’ve tried to keep this brief. These are my personal top ten..

1)      Don’t turn on your computer before you know exactly what you’re going to be doing for the day, or at least that morning. If you don’t have a plan, then you’ll waste time before you start. It’s so easy to get lost in distractions when you start your day without a solid plan. The best time to plan your day, is at the end of the previous day. Or rather, plan your following day at the end of your current day! An added bonus is when you plan your following day at the end of your day, then this frees up your mind which helps you relax and sleep. [Read more…]

Focus Is Key For Success

Focus Is Key For SuccessGiven that you’re reading this blog, the chances are that you’re aware that focus is key for success. You can set as many goals as you like, have dreams, get motivated and learn, but without focused attention and action, you’ll struggle to succeed. I for one, can vouch for this which is why I started this blog in the first place and on the realisation that I was far from alone with this struggle.  In today’s world of ‘hyper distraction’ with endless opportunities it’s becoming more and more challenging to focus and be productive – which is why it is so important to develop your ability to focus – and this is very possible. The Power Of Goal Setting

Goal SettingDo you ever get to the end of a week, a month, or year (or heaven forbid, longer than a year) and wonder what on earth you’ve achieved or worse still, what you’re doing with your life? Have you ever been on a long drive and got so lost in your thoughts when it suddenly occurs to you that you haven’t remembered a certain section of your journey? It’s a scary feeling isn’t it? This is what happens to our lives when we don’t set goals and have something to aim for. What tends to happen is that we unknowingly put ourselves into a reactive state, rather than a proactive state. The power of goal setting  (and hitting them), enables us to take control of our lives so we end up doing what fulfills us most, so we live the life that we want to lead, rather than one as a passenger (so to speak).
